Sol Diode Laser

Sol Diode Laser

The Sol Diode Laser is a state-of-the-art dental laser designed to perform a variety of soft tissue procedures with precision, efficiency, and minimal discomfort. Using concentrated light energy, the laser can gently cut, coagulate, and remove tissue while reducing bleeding, swelling, and the need for sutures. This makes treatments like gum contouring, frenotomies, and periodontal therapy faster and more comfortable for patients. Also used in the treatment of periodontal disease-Laser-assisted periodontal therapy (LAPT) and laser bacterial reduction (LBR).

Additionally, the Sol Diode Laser promotes faster healing and reduces the risk of infection, making it a preferred choice for both cosmetic and therapeutic dental procedures.

LBR: What it is and how it’s done

LBR is to be used as a pre-procedural rinse and can be done at every hygiene appointment at the beginning or end of the appointment, or in some cases at both times. With LBR, set the laser at a very low setting, typically 0.3–0.4 watts. The is pointed at the tissue around the teeth, but no tissue interaction takes place at this setting. The aim of this procedure is to reduce the overall bacterial count to prevent the spread of disease. LBR can often be used to prevent future problems in the patients’ dental health.

LAPT: What it is and how it’s done

LAPT is the procedure we do right after we complete SRP—or “periodontal therapy” The protocol with LAPT is to completely clean the surfaces of the tooth structure with ultrasonics and hand instrumentation, and then immediately utilise the laser into the depths of the diseased pockets.
